Prowler Proof Heritage design doors are made with rust-free cast aluminium panels which are welded on all contact points to a heavy duty aluminium frame. The standard insect gauze is high quality, long lasting fibreglass with small openings and great visibility. But you have a wide range of gauze options to choose from – Prowler Proof Heritage design doors can even be delivered with stainless steel gauze for bushfire prone areas.
Heritage Designs
Fitted with optional aluminium or stainless steel gauze, Prowler Proof Heritage designs are suitable for bushfire prone areas. With stainless steel gauze, Heritage is approved up to the extreme Bushfire Attack Level 40 (BAL 40). Heritage designs with aluminium gauze are approved up to BAL 29. The Australian Standard for construction of homes in bushfire prone zones (AS 3959) simply states that openable windows must be screened with corrosion-resistant steel, bronze or aluminium mesh with an opening of less than 2 mm x 2 mm. You can rely on Prowler Proof Heritage designs – even in a bushfire.
Heritage Designs
There are two reasons why Prowler Proof is the most corrosion-resistant Heritage screen door on the market. The fact that it’s welded instead of being held together by screws or rivets means that there are no untreated or raw edges to increase the risk of corrosion. And as the only Heritage screen door manufactured in a fully automated factory, Prowler Proof is powder coated AFTER the assembly. This eliminates the risk of damage to the paint during assembly. Prowler Proof is the only brand that has passed the Australian Standards acetic salt spray test...and one of only 10 Qualicoat approved powder coating applicators in Australia.
Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test AS 2331.3.2
The test: The 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test is pure torture. Acetic acid salt spray is not only saltier than sea water, it's also 10,000 times more acidic. The test takes place in an enclosed chamber at a temperature of +35ºC with almost 100% humidity.
The result: Passed. Prowler Proof is the only brand on the Australian market to pass the acetic acid salt spray test.
Your benefit: If you live in a coastal area or near industrial areas, corrosion is your screen door’s worst enemy. Prowler Proof is your safe choice. No other brand has passed the 1,000 hour acetic acid salt spray test. No other brand is covered by a 10 year replacement warranty.
Neutral Salt Spray Test AS 2331.3.1
The test: All Prowler Proof products have been tested to the Australian Standard 2331 which requires the product to survive a 1,000 hour neutral salt spray test. This test is an accelerated corrosion process that takes place in an enclosed chamber. The spray is saltier than sea water and the temperature is maintained at+35º C with almost 100% humidity.
The result: Passed. Even though the test went beyond 1,000 hours – 1,069 hours to be exact – there was no visible corrosion on the Prowler Proof product.
Your benefit: Thanks to the way they are built, Prowler Proof screen doors are the most corrosion-resistant on the market. Even with very little maintenance they will remain corrosion-free. Cleaning every six months – every three months in coastal or industrial regions – is all it takes. Screen doors that are held together by screws or rivets can require cleaning as often as every 2-4 weeks in coastal regions.

All Prowler Proof Heritage design screen doors come with a high quality fibreglass insect screen. But you can take it even further. Aluminium or stainless steel insect screens offer extra strength as well as protection from bushfire. With 18x30 strands per inch, a micro fibreglass insect screen will keep out even the smallest insects. And our pet safe polyester mesh is an economical solution if your pet likes to test the strength of the mesh with its claws. With Prowler Proof you can choose your own level of protection.
