When Scott and Laura bought their new home, they knew it needed their time, money and love to become the home of their dreams. One of their first priorities was to install security screens where there were only flyscreens before. Scott tells their story…
"We have a pool in the backyard and we wanted to be able to use it without locking all windows and doors. Security screens would allow us to get a breeze through the house while chilling in the pool without a worry in the world. And we knew that the insurance companies reduce their premiums if you have security screens installed.
The first quote dampened our enthusiasm. It was for a stainless steel product and the cost was about twice of what we had expected. We thought we would have to install old fashioned diamond grilles – until a friend told us about Prowler Proof and their dealer Steve Chalmers from CSI .
Steve came out and he was just the nicest guy. He showed us samples of all our options and explained pros and cons of each one of them. We ended up getting a quote for Diamond and Prowler Proof’s new product Protec. Their top-of-the-line product ForceField® was very nice but a bit out of our price range.
When the quotes came back, it turned out that Protec would only be about $1,000 dearer than Diamond all up. That made our decision easy, since Protec is a much better looking product. Steve gave us good advice about which of the 300 colours to choose – we went for charcoal to suit our future roof.
Although it was just before Christmas, Steve managed to order and install a full house of Protec security doors and window screens within a few days. Over the Christmas holidays we were able to enjoy the pool while breezes swept through our house, leaving it nice and cool.
I can honestly not think of a single thing we would have done differently. Steve was one of the nicest guys we have ever dealt with and Protec is such a quality product – at half the price of the stainless steel product we thought we wanted. It is slightly darker than ForceField® – especially when you view it from an angle – but that actually suits us well since we’re both shift workers and often need to sleep during the day.
We have recommended Steve and Prowler Proof to absolutely everybody. I think my sister will be the next one to call Steve...”

PROTEC - A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
We have been a member of the NSSA for a few years now. My view is that it is essential for any serious business in our industry to be a member. It is always something I bring up with my customers when running them through our products. The simple fact is, if the company is not a member, you don't know what you're getting. It's like quoting apples and oranges. All our products are marked with a NSSA AS 5039 compliance label which gives my clients reassurance that the screens are of the highest quality and our business has been audited so the installation will be done correctly.
In every industry there are always going to be varying degrees in quality. NSSA businesses are sitting nicely at the top and then there is a slippery slope downwards.
We were very proud to receive the NSSA Design Award for Best Residential Installation at AusFenEx19. This was always going to be a job that turned heads. Huge ForceField® doors that were the biggest Prowler Proof had made without mid rails, which, in my opinion, is what won this award. The award night itself was fantastic! Great experience to meet and network with people in our industry - it's always good to put a face to a name or a voice on the phone. I hope we get the chance to do it all again next year.
